Men's Times
So, another thing we do here every thursday is Men's Time! We alternate every week between just meeting with our guy students and just meeting as the guys on our staff team. On the weeks where it is just the staff men, we generally hang out, do some sort of fun activity like watching movies, going horse back riding, bowling, or some such thing, and then doing accountability among ourselves. On the other weeks, we want to do some form of outreach which targets males. So we have events that are very "manly", and invite all our guy students to it. These events include playing soccer, basketball tournaments, having a campfire out in the woods, paintball, or some other "manlyish" event. During these events the staff rotates doing a talk, sharing the gospel, and getting into the Bible. These events are really great as they provide a wonderful opportunity to engage with male students in their natural environment, bond with them, and share with them what it means to be a man, and what is truly important in this life. Yesterday, it was my turn to do the talk.... so we all played soccer together, and during half time I shared from Matthew 18 using the parable of the ungrateful servant. I had 7 guys who were able to hear the gospel.
